TASHEENA UPSHAW

COMMUNITY PROGRAMS COORDINATOR

Yaa'at'eeh, I am Bit'ahnii, born for To'ahani, my maternal grandfathers are Nat'oh Dine'e Tachiinii, and my paternal grandfathers are Ashiihi'. I was raised in Chilchinbeto, AZ, and moved back to Kayenta last year. I enjoy many things, such as writing, painting, crafting, reading, and being in my community. I volunteer some of my time and energy bringing awareness to Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives and have been a part of helping some families search for their loved ones and continue to do so to this day, including trying to resolve my own brother's case.

I am a mom of five and it has been and continues to be one of the greatest callings in my life. I enjoy being a daughter, a sister, and a mom in my community. This organization is a great opportunity to continue being that and I am so excited to be a part of that work.
